Significance can be defined as the extent to which something matters; importance, but this brief explanation does not express much thing. in statistics it means probably true. When a statistic is significant it simply means that you are very sure that the statistic is reliable .the word “significant” can also be used to describe a finding that is unlikely to have occurred by chance, while some others use it to describe a difference or relationship that may be important by some researchers.
